Step 1. First things first, your skin needs to be prepped. We recommend that you shave and exfoliate 24 hours prior.
Step 2. Shower and remove any sweat, sunscreen, moisturiser and deodorant. For the best results, ensure your skin is clean, exfoliated and moisturiser free.
Step 3. Apply one firm pump of your Tanning Foam of choice onto your Luxe Tanning Mitt. Use long strokes to apply to arms, legs and body, topping up your tanning foam as required.
Step 4. Use the residual foam on your Luxe Tanning Mitt for your face, neck, elbows and knees.
Step 5. Wash your hands and wait 1 hour or up to 8 hours before rinsing off the residue with cool water. Pat dry and repeat for the darkest bronze tan possible.
What is DHA?
DHA stands for dihydroxyacetone and is the chemical in fake tan that is responsible for changing the colour of the skin. Here at Byron Bay Bronze we use a high-quality nature-derived DHA which is considered safe by the FDA and is derived from beet or cane sugar which reacts with the amino acids in the top layer of skin to create a natural-looking bronzed tan.
Our products are more than just a fake tan!
All of our products are formulated with find active ingredients to hydrate, replenish and fight the skins of ageing all while creating a natural bronzed tan.
- Aloe Vera hydrates and fades stretch marks.
- Witch Hazel absorbs excess oil and fights breakouts.
- Black Walnut is anti-inflammatory and high in antioxidants.
- Vitamin E works to help prevent wrinkles.
- Vitamin C promotes collagen production.
How are our products plastic neutral?
Our bottles are made from recycled plastic and every time your purchase a product from us, we remove 1kg of plastic from the ocean. You can rest assure that when you purchase from Byron Bay Bronze we truly mean good for better for your skin and better for the planet.
The short answer is: the same way you would with a regular ol’ exfoliating glove.
When you’re ready to remove your fake tan, pop on the exfoliating mitt and start working your way up the body, using small, circular motions. You’ll want to spend a little more time on dry or patchy areas to make sure you’re getting all of the tan off. Think the knees, ankles, elbows and feet. Combined with the Tan Remover (Pro Strength), and you’ve got yourself a winning combo!
There’s no need to wet the bamboo exfoliating glove or your skin; it actually works better on dry skin. Just like with body brushing, it’s best to use the exfoliating mitt before you shower. Since the mitt stimulates the lymphatic system, the warm water will rinse away the dead skin cells and any toxins the mitt brought to the surface, leaving your skin feeling fresh and squeaky-clean.
You can get the job done in 5 minutes or less! The exfoliating mitt is effective at removing old tan remnants and dry patches, so you won’t need to set aside too much time before your shower.
Unlike a lot of commercial exfoliants, the Natural Sisal & Bamboo Exfoliating Mitt is incredibly gentle on the skin. Plus, it’s made up of two of Mother Nature’s best exfoliants!
Sisal fibre is soft to the touch, but works wonders in sloughing off dead skin cells that your self-tan is clinging to, leaving you with soft, even skin. Bamboo is a key ingredient in many natural scrubs, and for good reason! Along with smoothing the skin, it firms and strengthens your skin’s barrier to fight the bacteria that causes acne.
Both materials suit all skin types and speed up your skin’s natural renewal process. They unclog the pores, smooth bumps and even out the skin tone for healthier, more radiant skin.
You want to remove your fake tan but aren't sure how to do it without aggressively scrubbing your skin and causing irritation. In this guide, we cover the best products to remove fake tan, a simple and effective way to remove fake tan and how to avoid skin irritation in the process.
